What is Your Best Childhood Memory
For a society where all children are loved.
Dear BELOVED ARTIST,
I contact you with an official invitation as it is our greatest desire to have you involved in the “What’s Your Best Childhood Memory?” exhibition, a charity project aimed at raising money for NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children).
Official website: www.nspcc.org.uk
Please also find further information at the end of the letter.
Artists from all over the world are being invited and have been carefully selected to produce a work of art (whether in writing (poetry, music/lyrics, short story), drawing, painting, photography, video, sculpture or sound) based on the theme. All drawings and photographs will have an edition of 10. Painting, video and sculpture remain unique pieces. Submissions in writing will be distributed freely and posted online.
The main goal of this exhibition, besides raising money for the organization, is to get more people, worldwide, to be aware of issues related to Cruelty to Children and how to make a positive difference: spreading the word and knowledge further and further through significant ways of helping.
This is also an opportunity to encourage people to buy art and make it part of their lives and grow with it, especially youngsters living in countries where collecting art is not a tradition or possibility.
Unfortunately and understandably the great majority cannot afford to bring your art into their lives. The artwork displayed in the exhibition will have a common price for all pieces, agreed upon all those involved as a viable one. We invite you to be a part of this project in any possible way, as we are fully aware of the value of your TALENT and TIME.
Furthermore, this project aims to create an open forum for people worldwide to express their "Best Childhood Memory". This will be done through a website created and maintained by the idealizer of this project. This will indefinitely serve as a main method of spreading the word about "What's Your Best Childhood Memory?" and attracting people to what aims to become a traveling exhibition. It will also be a great opportunity to involve those who are not artists, or who think they do not have the talent or never had the chance to express themselves artistically, to come forward, and in a very positive way.
All the money from this exhibition will be donated to NSPCC, with the sole deduction of production costs, which will be assumed by the idealizer.
Eventually, with the response to the project, a catalogue / book will be created to inspire and reach more people, with all money of sales also going to NSPCC (this will be produced through sponsorship and partnerships agreed by all).
This is a first contact and we do hope you find it in your time and heart to share your beautiful talent, as we are great admirers and want to make it a part of the lives of those who do not have access to it.
About NSPCC:
The NSPCC's vision is of a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfil their potential. It has over 180 community-based projects and services across the UK, which help to prevent abuse and enable children to overcome its devastating effects. Most of the NSPCC's work is with children, young people and their families, however they also work to achieve cultural, social and political change - influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people.
